DescriptionThe Biology Department and College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for a Finance and HR Professional . This position will provide academic, financial, and business related services to the Biology Department to support the department’s teaching, research and outreach activities by creating systems and efficiencies and internal controls in the accounting, budget, personnel, and office administration systems.Who We Are:

  • Manage technical budget processes, purchasing and requisitions in support of the department teaching, research and outreach activities.
  • Serve as Program Fiscal Manager in prerparing budget, overseeing compliance.
  • Forecast and anticipate budget and operational needs.
  • Oversee, interpret and adjust journals for general funds, start-up, revenue, gift, outreach and Sponsored Programs on a monthly basis.
  • Processing contracts, monthly, bi-weekly and hourly pay.
  • Payroll tracking.
  • Job terminations.
  • Hiring, processing and tracking varieties of instructor overloads, lecturers, student employees, GTAs, volunteers and POIs.
  • Reporting responsibilities: PAM, audits, logs, Late Pay, Job List, Cherwell, HCM.
  • Creating processes and procedures
  • Full-time, front desk presence to assist, support and providfe first-contact for/to the university, college, administration, faculty, students, staff and general public.
  • Create, organize and manage adminstrative documents.
  • Monitor, coordinate and communicate the strategic objectives of the department.
  • Collaborate and communicate successfully with other entities outside of the department and university.
  • Reviews grant applications and manages grant expenditures and budgets.
  • Attends HR Business Partner meetings and other relevant trainings as needed.

    DescriptionThe National Institute for Human Resilience (NIHR) is seeking an experienced Billing and Insurance Authorization Coordinator for our expanding Behavioral Health clinic. This is a .75 FTE position.The NIHR conducts research on mental health, disasters, first responders support, secondary trauma and trauma recovery and also operates the Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic (VHTC), an innovative behavioral health care clinic providing specialized services to address the mental health needs of individuals and families in our military and civilian communities. Job duties of this position include billing, insurance authorizations, and other office duties which involve analytical skills and personal accountability.Who We Are:

  • Receiving and sorting incoming payments
  • Managing status of client accounts and balances
  • Issuing bills, invoices, and receipts
  • Work with billing company to ensure accounts are up to date and produce reports needed for quarterly reports
  • Prepares and Complete deposits
  • Actively seek information to understand client circumstances and problems with patient billing issues, to include direct communications with client when necessary
  • Investigate typical and escalated patient billing complaints
  • Data entry into client database
  • Verifying client insurance eligibility
  • Obtaining proof of insurance
  • Completing pre-authorizations needed for services
  • Tracking the authorization process start to finish
  • Notifying and collecting data needed for authorizations from staff
  • Address client care issues/questions within an appropriate time period. Work with Office Manager to resolve issues as needed
  • Communicate with insurance brokers, third party administrators, insurance carriers, and providers as questions and issues arise
  • Assist front office staff with Chart Audits
  • Act as back up to Office manager when needed
  • Assist with ordering office supplies
  • Attend various meetings to support and represent clinics as needed
