DescriptionThe National Institute for Human Resilience (NIHR) is seeking an experienced Billing and Insurance Authorization Coordinator for our expanding Behavioral Health clinic.
This is a .75 FTE position.The NIHR conducts research on mental health, disasters, first responders support, secondary trauma and trauma recovery and also operates the Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic (VHTC), an innovative behavioral health care clinic providing specialized services to address the mental health needs of individuals and families in our military and civilian communities. Job duties of this position include billing, insurance authorizations, and other office duties which involve analytical skills and personal accountability.

Job Duties:Data entryInvoicing and Accounts receivable/payable to the clinicReceiving and sorting incoming paymentsManaging status of client accounts and balancesIssuing bills, invoices, and receiptsWork with billing company to ensure accounts are up to date and produce reports needed for quarterly reportsPrepares and Complete depositsActively seek information to understand client circumstances and problems with patient billing issues, to include direct communications with client when necessaryInvestigate typical and escalated patient billing complaintsData entry into client databaseVerifying client insurance eligibilityObtaining proof of insuranceCompleting pre-authorizations needed for servicesTracking the authorization process start to finishNotifying and collecting data needed for authorizations from staffAddress client care issues/questions within an appropriate time period. Work with Office Manager to resolve issues as neededCommunicate with insurance brokers, third party administrators, insurance carriers, and providers as questions and issues ariseAssist front office staff with Chart AuditsAct as back up to Office manager when neededAssist with ordering office suppliesAttend various meetings to support and represent clinics as neededOther duties as assigned

Salary Range: Generally starting at: $29,070 - $35,046 at .75 FTE
Tentative Search Schedule: Applications will be reviewed week of November 2nd.Virtual interviews will be conducted November 13th and 18th (tentatively).Final interviews with the hiring authority will be conducted the week of November 30th.
