DescriptionThe Biology Department and College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for a Finance and HR Professional . This position will provide academic, financial, and business related services to the Biology Department to support the department’s teaching, research and outreach activities by creating systems and efficiencies and internal controls in the accounting, budget, personnel, and office administration systems.

Job Duties: Manage technical budget processes, purchasing and requisitions in support of the department teaching, research and outreach activities. Serve as Program Fiscal Manager in prerparing budget, overseeing compliance.Forecast and anticipate budget and operational needs.Oversee, interpret and adjust journals for general funds, start-up, revenue, gift, outreach and Sponsored Programs on a monthly basis.Processing contracts, monthly, bi-weekly and hourly pay.Payroll tracking.Job terminations.Hiring, processing and tracking varieties of instructor overloads, lecturers, student employees, GTAs, volunteers and POIs.Reporting responsibilities: PAM, audits, logs, Late Pay, Job List, Cherwell, HCM.Creating processes and proceduresFull-time, front desk presence to assist, support and providfe first-contact for/to the university, college, administration, faculty, students, staff and general public.Create, organize and manage adminstrative documents. Monitor, coordinate and communicate the strategic objectives of the department.Collaborate and communicate successfully with other entities outside of the department and university.Reviews grant applications and manages grant expenditures and budgets.Attends HR Business Partner meetings and other relevant trainings as needed.Job Competencies: Advanced interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Advanced oral and written communication skills.Ability to adapt to changing work priorities based on the needs of the unit. Salary Range: Generally starting at: $39,789 - $49,737
