Position Summary:

The position of Administrative Associate I is the first point of contact for the public. This person answers inquiries regarding the services that are available and directs individuals to the appropriate training or technical assistance provider and provides information regarding other resources available. This position provides administrative and program assistance for an office or department of the Small Business Development Center. Responsibilities include secretarial support for faculty and other staff members; coordination of performance data collection, reporting, and verification; performance of purchasing functions, including the preparation of purchase orders, check requests, and reconciliation of cash expenditures, as well as maintenance of administrative records, literature, and resources. This position also assists with the marketing of SBDC programs to the local community.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Skilled in the use and operation of computer software systems, including: Windows, Word, and Excel.

Strong organizational skills….able to design, develop, and organize office functions into an effective and efficient operating system.

Ability to use independent judgment.

Able to effectively deal with the public, possessing strong oral and written communications skills and professional demeanor.

Proficient in business writing, grammar, and business etiquette.

Detail-oriented and self-starter.

Prepare correspondence, presentation materials, purchase and check requests, supply orders, travel and expense reports, and other documents.

Coordinate collection of Cetrac data. Perform Cetrac data entry and verify accuracy of data and program file documentation. Prepare promotional materials for seminars, workshops, and other training programs and meetings; take registrations; collect and remit registration fees; and prepare training reports. Perform Information Transfer (RFE) data entry.
