What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Via Christi Health, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and facilitate patient admissions or transfers according to patient acuity, bed availability, and required services.

Responsibilities:


  • Collaborates with the nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members to place patient in appropriate level of care to achieve desired outcomes. Coordinates as liaison between physician requestors for consultants and specialty consultants.

  • Initiates care management process including pre-registration and insurance verification.

  • Stays informed of changes in managed care and communicates procedural and financial impact to admitting physicians during the reservation/scheduling process.

  • Reviews medical reports from referring hospitals or physician offices and relays information to nursing unit. Develops relationships with referral sources and admission decision makers.

  • Maintains documentation of communications with physician/service referrals for legal, medical, statistical, and process improvement purposes.

  • Follows up with referring entities for ease of access, marketing, evaluation and quality improvement.

  • Coordinates education and development of internal staff and external departments to ensure understanding of intake review and approval process.

  • Required Credential(s):

    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 

    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 


Education:

  • Diploma

What You Will Do

St. Vincent’s East provides all the service lines that our downtown hospital provides except for Birth Suites and NICU which is exclusive to our downtown location.  It is the home for our only Behavioral Health service line and offers a level III Emergency Department.

 

As a Registered Nurse (RN) Charge with St. Vincent's Health System-AL, you will have the opportunity to coordinate unit staffing and provides leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.

Your responsibilities will include:


  • Assigning, directing, educating and monitoring nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Contributing to or performing performance evaluations of staff.

  • Assessing daily patient care needs and developing and distributing patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of patient care and identifying any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.

  • Responding to complaints about patient care and managing through established channels.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities:


  • Takes a medical history and account of the assault from the patient. Assesses the patient's psychological condition and performs physical examination.

  • Collects and preserves all evidence, collects relevant specimens and documents findings.

  • Provides direct nursing care of injuries and prophylactic medications. Refers to appropriate personnel/facility for further treatment as necessary.

What You Will Do

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide patient/resident care as required under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse. Completing assigned tasks to ensure timely, efficient, and safe paitent/resident care, while communicating and interacting with patients, residents, families, and other health team members is an essential component of this position.

 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform initial and ongoing data collection on all patients/residents under the direct supervision of the RN or LPN

What You Will Do
Cardiovascular ICU is a private 8- bed unit that specializes in cardiac care for patients who have had Cardiothoracic Surgery. This includes: CABG (Coronary artery bypass grafting), MVR (Mitral valve repair/replacement, AVR (aortic valve replacement), Thoracotomies, carotids and femoral popliteal bypass.  You will see extensive hemodynamic monitoring, use of continuous bedside dialysis (CRRT), cardiac assist devices (IABP, external pace makers) and frequent use of vasoactive medications.
 
On CVICU, you will be trained to detect medical issues before they become a problem, so that you can respond to those emergent situations quickly and confidently.
You will:

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.

  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Our average nurse to patient ratio is 2:1 with some patients requiring 1:1 care. Our beds are normally full and our staff is very rarely cancelled.

What You Will Need
Required Credentials:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 

  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 6 months of hire

  • Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

What You Will Do
