Position Summary:The Associate Director of Career Development will assist law school students with professional development while cultivating relationships with career advisors and alumni of the Law School. This encompasses implementing meaningful professional programs throughout the semester, engaging alumni for career advisor opportunities and other connections, and managing relationships with student organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:• Excellent organizational skills; good relationships with alumni, practitioners and consultants who can be recruited as speakers; effective communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other Career Development Office staff to ensure delivery of programs that address common issues seen during counseling and and a willingness to help out where the need arises.
• Knowledge of professional development areas that will benefit the students (e.g. interview etiquette) and that lend themselves to paper or online instructions
• Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate professional development programs for all law students.
• Staying knowledgeable about current legal trends and active organizations. Utilizing and outreach to alumni contacts. Being available and responsive to students.
• Knowledge of how to use available IT resources effectively with and ability to learn office and university-specific software.
• Time management skills; broad knowledge of all services provided by the CDO; willingness to help out where the need arises.

Duties/Responsibilities:Implement all professional development programming offered for all three class levels of law students. This includes coordinating the calendar for fall and spring semesters, designing content, recruiting speakers for panels, organizing logistics, publicizing events, ensuring distribution of program materials, and other related tasks.

Duties/Responsibilities:Support the law school’s efforts at engaging alumni/ae by facilitating speaker opportunities, career advisor opportunities and other connections. Communicate with individuals and organizations (e.g. bar examiners, bar associations and potential speakers) on behalf of our students and our office.
