Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Position Summary:

This new position is based in Ware County and is responsible for paraprofessional work under the supervision and direction of County Extension Agents/Supervisors. It plans, organizes, schedules, and conducts nutrition and food safety classes for limited-resource clients, including youth and adults with children. It assists the county agent/supervisor in providing the information requested by clients and exhibit qualities of independent judgment.
Illustrative examples of work:
1. Plans, organizes, schedules, and conducts nutrition and food safety classes for limited-resource clients, including youth and adults, under the general supervision of County Extension Agent/Supervisor.
2. Prepares for and conducts food demonstrations for group classes.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Ability to relate effectively with limited resource adults, youth and families.
Skills in informal teaching environments at sites where limited resource individuals are located
Strong communication skills and experience interacting with diverse groups of people
Ability to lead groups effectively
