Job Description

We are looking for ambitious Design Technicians and Field Technicians to join our clients growing team in Denver. You will be working with the largest utility provider in Denver to assist clients and document gas/electrical utility lines.

This role will involve site visits along with customer interaction so customer service experience will help. Field work consists of taking pictures of equipment, blueprint reading and measuring equipment. Office work consists of documentation, hand sketches, researching equipment specs for anything on an electric utility pole: transformers, valves, actuators, types of pipe.

Responsibilities:

-Very customer service/client oriented
-GPS survey
-Overhead/underground line locating
-Inspections
-Documentation of power distribution, gas distribution, ROW, compressors and other related facilities
-Complete design tasks for associated utility design projects such as mapping in GE Smallworld, easement validation, design/construction cost estimating and permit package development
-Manage 20-30 active projects
-Review GIS for update or conflict
-Coordinate projects for construction across multiple departments to accomplish timely construction and meet customer, crew member or client needs within a negotiated timeframe

Will be calling customers and introducing themselves on behalf of the company. Will set up site visits with customers and once on site will take measurements (of pipes, generators, installation dimensions, etc.). Will then draw changes and bring the drawing to life. Candidate then will estimate all charges/cost for the change the customer needs and call the client to explain what needs to be done. Must have a customer service mindset to handle customers who were promised information from your client weeks ago and never received it (diffuse situations).

-Associates degree in drafting or Associates in Engineering Technology
-Basic construction experience
-Reading blueprints
-CAD background (not required)
- MUST be comfortable with the field
-Reliable transportation required
-Good work history
-Must have interest in the energy/natural gas industry

Will be working on 20-30 active projects at a time
-Each project needs to be completed in 2 weeks
-Will be managing own schedule so needs to be organized
-Need to be realistic with customers on when their projects will be completed (set correct expectations)
