Director, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)

NTT Data is adding a Director to our growing M&A consulting team. This role requires strong Financial Services and Insurance (FSI) Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) experience, broad and specific understanding of M&A priorities and approach and with deep skills in M&A PMO and at least 2 functional areas. The right candidate will possess strong management consulting skills, the ability to lead consulting delivery, and experience in building consulting service offerings.

As a Director in the NTT Data M&A practice, this role will be responsible for partnering with our account management and technical teams to bring industry-centric M&A thought leadership and delivery capabilities to our most important clients. This person will have deep knowledge of the subject matter and uses this to help develop and deliver solutions for the clients, working with our account managers and technical teams. This person will network with industry leaders, internal FSI sales and client leadership, current clients, and potential clients to understand and communicate current and future trends.


  • Primarily responsible for leading teams, clients, and consulting solutions within FSI Business Consulting

  • Manages client relationships and delivery experience potentially spanning multiple client executives and their teams

  • Provide consultative leadership of client engagements in one or more of the following areas:

  • Understanding client's business(es) and typical outcomes expected via the M&A transaction; connect to the core rationale and how it will drive business growth

  • Understanding the balance of strategic drivers versus practical, critical outcomes of the M&A transaction; able to articulate the relative priority of both.

  • Able to articulate change impacts to people, process, technology, data, risk & compliance, etc.

  • Can address core systems (selection, lending, payments, deposits depth, etc.) and broader IT implications and approaches

  • Clearly understands the role of governance and how to instantiate the right governance for the transaction

  • Understands the details of creating a consulting offering; knows how to harvest and package assets and convey a compelling offering story

  • Contributes to industry thought leadership and participates in development of thought leadership

    Preference:
    Enterprise Architecture experience with a strong understanding of Business Architecture.

    Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field of study

  • Minimum of 10 years of Financial Services experience

  • Minimum of 7 years ofM&A consulting experience

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to understand complex topics and distill them into simple messages

  • Scoping and leading the delivery of wholesale lending related work and supporting and guiding junior team members as required
