The Role

The Network Engineer has a minimum of 8+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer in a Financial Trading or similar environment. He has experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of financial trading networks including Market data, and ultra-low latency trading infrastructure. He must have strong analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal, presentation, project management, and team-work skills. Flexibility to work on a diverse list of projects across multiple technologies.The Network Engineer has a minimum of 8+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer in a Financial Trading or similar environment. The Main Responsibilities


Core Technical Competence:


The Network Engineer has a solid background and experience working in a financial trading or similar environment, and very competent in the following technology areas:



  • Data Center technologies – Architecture, design, management, and inter-connections.

  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot financial trading networks.

  • A solid background designing, managing, and troubleshooting a diverse multi-protocol, switched and routed networks.

  • A solid experience working with Packet analysis tools to troubleshoot and validate packet level network issues.

  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues with both internal and external clients.






What We Look For in a Candidate


Specific Technology Expertise:


Strong and extensive knowledge of complex protocols and technologies:



  • Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS

  • IP Multicast: IGMP, PIM, MSDP

  • Switching: vPC, MLAG, Trunking, Port-Aggregation, VxLAN.

  • Arista EOS, Cisco IOS, IOS-XR, IOS-XE, and NX-OS

  • Ethernet 100GE, 400GE and beyond.

  • Optical: DWDM, dark-fibers, high speed optics

  • WAN Architecture/Design: WAN Resiliency, VPNs, BFD and VRFs.

  • PTP design and implementation.

  • Firewall Architecture and Network integration.

  • Network Management: SNMP, syslog, IPSLA, SFLOW, streaming telemetry, and network automation.

  • Packet analysis and decodes using Corvil and Wireshark, Market data Gap analysis.


Education:


A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. Cisco Certifications like CCNA, CCNP or CCIE will be a big plus.
