Position Summary:

The mission of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of California, Irvine is to facilitate and enrich the education and personal growth of its students through their participation in competitive NCAA Division I athletics. The Director of Digital Media reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing & Community Relations and works closely with the external relations group. There are 18 Division-I intercollegiate athletic programs at the University of California, Irvine. This position creates, manages, and execute social media content strategy for all 18 Division I sports accounts while working closely with all content contributors. In addition to social media responsibilities, this position supports paid digital advertising efforts, marketing automation, UC Irvine Athletics website, and the official UC Irvine fan app. As a member of the marketing staff this position will be involved in all aspects of marketing, including: planning; advertising; promotion; public relations; program and product development; distribution; and research to meet the department’s goals and objectives.

$50,000.00

Required:

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience preferred.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Solid knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies and best practices. Knowledge of customer service standards / procedures. Organizational skills and skills in file creation, maintenance and management. Written and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient with adobe creative suite and graphic design. Working knowledge of basic marketing, promotions and ticket sales techniques in collegiate or professional sports. Working knowledge of desktop publishing software. Effective team player, contributing to overall department goals.

Preferred:

Solid knowledge of institutional products and services (e.g. collegiate athletic programs). Knowledge of the campus and / or medical center including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives and infrastructure. Working knowledge of customer relation management tools and marketing automation platforms. Working knowledge of digital media and strategies to integrate social media into traditional marketing plans.

Special Conditions Preferred:

Work schedule varies by sport schedule, includes nights and weekends. Travel with team may be required. Adherence to all applicable NCAA, Big West Conference, and other regulations or policies.
