https://ucirvinesports.com/) Assist the Director of Sports Medicine in the administration of the sports medicine and athletic training programs. Responsible, under the direction of the Director of Sports Medicine and/or Team Physician, for the care, prevention, treatment/management, and rehabilitation of all athletic injuries and illnesses of the student-athletes. Provide additional coverage of events, teams and individuals using the intercollegiate athletic facilities, as assigned. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices to deliver customized athletic training focused on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and optimizing athletic performance. Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain results.
Compensation Range: $55,700

Thorough skills associated with athletic injury prevention and the administration of therapeutic modalities, devices, and rehabilitation techniques, as well as of first-aid, athletic equipment, and injury assessment and treatment. Comprehensive working knowledge of BOC Standards of Professional Practice for health care delivery Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters involving athletic injuries and treatments. Thorough knowledge of electronic medical records systems. Thorough knowledge of medical terminology appropriate to job responsibilities. Skill in documenting health information, utilizing appropriate terminology and complexity For positions associated with Sports Medicine, must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times, avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards. Strong ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with others, including athletes, team physicians, faculty, staff and others in the athletic department. Strong skills necessary to communicate verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal / communication skills to interact with a diverse patient population. Strong ability to organize and prioritize work assignments and complete assignments within required timelines. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills needed to work with a diverse client group. Strong manual therapy skills applicable to orthopedics and sports medicine. Ability to provide first responder care at athletic events. Recognition of life threatening, urgent and non-emergent injuries and risk; facilitate triage; and escalate to physician. Comprehensive working knowledge of BOC Standards of Professional Practice for health care delivery Decision making in a high demand environment with competing priorities Ability to perform job duties and serve as an authority in emergency situations
