SEEKING $60-65K GIS TECHNICIAN

SEEKING GIS CANDIDATE

Qualifications:

- Prefer experience with GIS from utilities other than so cal gas: Long Beach, Cities, PG&E, LADWP, etc.

- At least 1-2 yrs. experience

- If degreed, prefer BA or BS in Geography or Geographic Information Systems

- Proficient in GIS

- Strong written/verbal communication skills

Duties:

Receive, log, and track new and existing requests for data integration to the gis database via ms office and SharePoint systems. Review existing non-gis data submissions such as as-built drawings, for accuracy, labeling, and completeness of documentation for accurate representation of gis features and attributes. Review survey data in ms excel format for accuracy and accessibility to current gis database system. Create parcels on tracking system for survey data upload by validating tabular data to facilitate work continuity and final posting to gis database. Maintain, modify, or enter survey data to database using coordinate systems, projections, and attribute tables. Perform gis data and aerial photography analysis to determine best route of pipeline segments to be surveyed for projects using gis network systems and gis software tools. Post process raw survey data for spatial accuracy, data and attribute classification, and gis shape file deliverable, using gis software correction and basic gis mapping elements. Prepare digital representations of surveyed data located on gis database network using cartographic and digital mapping techniques on gis software.

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
