Overview Neuro-Trauma Intensive Care Unit at HCAMission Health Registered Nurse - Full-Time - Days This position iscurrently offering a sign-on bonus! $10,000 sign-on bonus forfull-time, night shift RN position in this unit - paid all in firstpaycheck with a 2-year commitment to Mission Health System. (Note:Former Mission Health employees are eligible ONLY if separated fromMission for 1 year or more) Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is aLevel 2 Trauma Center that serves as the only trauma center in the18 counties of Western North Carolina. Mission Hospital has beendesignated by The Joint Commission as a Comprehensive StrokeCenter, which features collaborative multi-disciplinary teamsconsisting of neuro hospitalists, neurovascular hospitalists, nursepractitioners, hospital registered nurses, and techs - workingtogether to serve this high-acuity patient population withcompassionate care. Neuro-Trauma ICU unit profile: * 20 bed unit *Patient Population: A variety of patients to include neuro patientsas well as trauma patients, stroke patients, Traumatic BrainInjuries, elective craniotomies, those coming from surgeryperformed by Trauma surgeons, overflow from MSICU, etc. * Typicalnurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 * Collaborative relationship inmultidisciplinary rounds with providers * Culture of teamwork -team members care for patients and for each other like family Ifyou are a well-organized nurse with exceptional time-managementskills who can stay cool under pressure - this may be a great unitfor you! Registered Nurse at Mission Health: Role Summary: Providesleadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursingcare for the comfort and well-being of patients. Utilizes thenursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, andevaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care andteaching of patients and family. Implements medically prescribedinterventions. Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.Effective 3/1/18 Bachelor of Science in Nursing OR enroll in a BSNor advanced degree program within 6 months AND obtain a BSN within4 years of hire date into RN position. Previous signed BSNcommitment letter OR grandfathering will be accepted betweendepartments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions may be approvedwith CNO System Council approval. Required License orCertifications: Must have and maintain current licensure asregistered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC(Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee shouldconfirm with NCBON Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider. PreferredLicense or Certifications: National Certification in area ofspecialty. Required Experience: One-year hospital nursingexperience -- this is the base experience required for the RN roleat Mission Health; please see Preferred Experience fordepartment-specific criteria. Preferred Experience: At least 2years of nursing experience in an ICU is highly preferred; may alsoconsider those with experience in Trauma Care units, Neuro units,some stepdown or progressive care experience depending on staffingmix at the time.
