Mechanical Designer/ Detailer

Our client is seeking an individual with a background in steel detailing and mechanical understanding for drafting, design and detailing. They deal mainly with structural steel and aluminum.

The majority of the work is AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks. They will need to understand steel detailing, such as connections, columns, beams, components, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities

-- Using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create structural steel detail drawings for bleachers and grandstand projects.

-- Using this software, they will create concept layout, detail, and design drawings. They will need to be able to work with architects as well.

-- On day-to-day, they will bid on a project and (if awarded) get specs of drawings for space. Then, they will start from scratch to get grandstands designed to fit within the space. They will do detailing work.

-- Participate in early concept work for new projects and recommend methods of construction, product details, assembly/fabrication to minimize cost and maximize value.

-- Knowledgeable of changing national and local codes and incorporates these into product designs as directed.
