SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem

St Mark's Hospital has an opportunity for a Monitor Technician! 
PRN 

Continuously monitors the ECG patterns of all telemetry patients. In conjunction with the RN, evaluates ECG rhythms, including cardiac intervals and alerts the RN to changes or life threatening alterations in the patients monitored, taking into consideration the age of patients monitored (i.e. adult and geriatric). Facilitates the documentation of ECG strips and patient vital signs.Continuous observation provided to at risk patients by utilization of a camera, sitter runner and/or a 1:1 sitter. Camera sitter documents patient status and changes in at risk behavior. Communicate to clinical staff at risk behaviors improving patient safety.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Basic Arrhythmia Recognition within 6 months ofhire

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.  

Education: 



  • Practical validation of ECG rhythm interpretationcompetency, either by unit-administered testing or by demonstrating correct ECG rhythm interpretation on the-job, or both, required before completion ofposition orientation.




Experience: 



  • EMT-I, paramedic, or one-year experience as a CNAin a critical care nursing environment preferred.
