Fiber Optic Construction Inspector

Aerotek has partnered with an engineering firm with a large focus on energy and telecom engineering.Our client is hiring multiple traveling construction observer/inspectors for projects throughout NE, IA, SD, and CO. Inspector is on site to make sure the plans and specifications are followed. This includes making sure the contractor is installing products correctly and per the specs. Also accounting for the units which are actually completed, making sure the units are completed correctly and updating plans to as-built data. It is all primarily outside work. This is 100% Travel

Job Duties:

• Construction observation of telecommunications Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) projects


• Responsible for data collection of aerial and underground cable installation progress


• Validate viable cost-effective paths for engineering


• Make key decisions while taking value engineering, installation procedures, and future maintenance into account


• Communicate with contractors and engineers on-site


• Frequent Travel

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of fiber-optic installation experience


• Knowledge of aerial and underground cabling


• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite


• Telecommunication construction experience preferred


• Willingness to travel

Schedule:

• Typical week will be approx. 50 hours (M-F)

Compensation:

• Hourly pay: 18/hr - 28/hr (Dependent on experience)


• Company Vehicle (Light MVR Check required)


• Gas card


• Company cell phone


• $25/day per diem for food


• Free lodging
