The position is part of LASC’s undergraduate certificate program in Latin American and Latinx Studies. Besides teaching the Quechua courses at beginning and intermediate levels, the successful candidate will participate actively in the academic life of LASC, coordinate outreach activities to build the new Quechua Program, develop online curriculum, and be a consultant for graduate students in the Department of Linguistics. Applicants must hold at least an MA degree and a demonstrated record of teaching is required. The anticipated start date is January 4th, 2021.

Teach Quechua courses at beginning and intermediate levels, develop online courses, consultation for the Linguistics Graduate Program, organize outreach activities.

What You Should KnowLASC is building a Quechua Program. The person hired will be involved in the Program building process and help coordinate activities of student recruitment and promotion of classes. The university will not sponsor applicants for work visas and applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
This is a 25% part time appointment and is not benefit eligible. What We Can OfferEach course is paid at $5,000 + fringe benefits; $2,000 consultation with the Linguistics Department. Additional compensation for online course development (Quechua 1010 and 1020). Spring 2020= 1 course, consultation, online course development. AY 2021-2022=4 courses (pending sufficient enrollment).
