Job Description

TODAY Digital, the multiplatform arm of America’s favorite morning show, is looking for an Associate Commerce Editor to help assign and edit our shopping content. The Associate Commerce Editor will be responsible for managing freelance writers, assigning, editing and optimizing Shop TODAY’s content. The ideal candidate will have a mix of editorial and analytical skills with a firm understanding of SEO, grammar and AP style. This candidate should have the ability to create and edit shoppable editorial content focused on product categories across fashion, home, parents, beauty, health and food. They should be able to use data and analytics to drive editorial decisions and accurately decipher marketing jargon to ensure all copy is accurate and help readers make informed shopping decisions. Responsibilities:* Assign, edit and publish multiple Shop TODAY articles on a daily basis including timely news-pegged content and evergreen roundups* Serve as the team’s resource for market ideas (i.e., discover trending products, stay up to date on the latest brand launches and retailer news, etc.) * Provide CMS training and guidance to the team, including interns and Pages* Optimize content for search and based on affiliate partnerships and commerce opportunities* Coordinate with the Senior Commerce Editor to plan and execute the Shop TODAY editorial calendar, including tentpole events and larger-scale projects* Contribute to the growth of Shop TODAY by brainstorming new ways to engage readers and drive traffic/sales across all digital platformsExperience:• 2+ years of editing experience in digital media, preferably with commerce experience• Proven experience with copy editing• Familiarity with affiliate marketing platforms a plus Skills:• Exceptional knowledge of grammar and AP Style• Highly organized, detail-oriented and excellent verbal/written communication skills• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work across multiple teams• Strong editorial judgment and sense of the TODAY voice and audience• Interest in shopping trends and discovering new products that will resonate with TODAY readers• Comfortable analyzing data to make informed editorial decisions• Knowledge of SEO best practices• Passion for shoppingAt NBCUniversal, we believe in the talent of our people.
