Position Emphasis: This position is responsible for supporting the Director and Associate Director of Housing and Dining with the planning, operation and implementation of summer camps and conferences, developing and maintaining business partnerships, supporting the Commuter Housing Website, and overseeing outreach marketing. The coordinator provides the overall direction and supervision for the conference operations and conference staff in the Department of Housing and Dining. The coordinator manages the assignment of conferences, camps, and programs to appropriate department facilities, develops and implements conference policies and procedures, and works to develop contracts with interested groups, as well as usher contracts through the CU Denver Process.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Manages all logistics for summer camps and conferences including planning, implementation and oversight; develops partnerships with K-12 and community stakeholders; acts as a direct point of contact for each camp/conference.
- During the summer months the camps and conference coordinator will be on call more to facilitate a smooth process for our camps, conferences and interns; independently addresses logistical issues as need.
- Develops and fosters partnerships with downtown businesses for increased intern housing; researches opportunities to expand partnerships; manages outreach and marketing to promote and expand intern housing partnerships.
- Manages logistics and outreach marketing for campus visit days, tours, orientation events, etc. to help contract new students for the upcoming academic year.
- Handles customer service complaints with parents/students and/or refers to appropriate resources; escalates complex complaints to housing operations management.
- Collects, maintains, updates and tracks student housing data, ensuring data integrity, using available software; keeps data up to date to ensure reports are accurate; generates reports as requested.
- Ensures other departments and groups are notified in a timely manner to confirm living areas are readied (i.e., Facilities and Residence Life).
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with other University representatives and ensures the University's customer service standards are upheld in communicating with students, parents and internal staff.
- Promotes an environment in the residence halls that supports the academic mission of the university, the Division of Student and Community Engagement, and the mission of Housing & Dining Services.
- Oversee and support the commuter student housing website.
- Assists hall staff in promoting an environment that is safe, conducive to studying and well-maintained.
- Assists and support residents in their growth and identity through providing support, mediation, crisis intervention and follow-up through a culturally competent lens.
- Partners with supervisor to support needs of student affairs offices to support the needs of students.
- Serves in a designated on-call rotation. Coordinators are on-call approximately every 4 weeks throughout each semester, including summer and break periods.
- Responds to and follow-up on emergency and management situations as needed.
- Communicates through incident reports, other University reporting systems and email notifications as needed.
- Communicates, educate and follow up with residents on the Student Code of Conduct, Housing & Dining policies and responsible decision making through student conduct meetings.
- This position is a Campus Security Authority (CSA)/Mandatory Reporter.
- Manages room moves as dictated by the Assistant Director of Residence Life (during regular academic year).
- Manages room cleans before and after camps and conferences with our housekeeping vendor.
- Utilizes operational systems such as StarRez, Maxient, Salto, Microsoft Outlook and others to perform administrative functions of the position.
- Supervises: 7-12 Summer Conference Assistants.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:The hiring salary for this position has been established at $42,729. This position is not eligible for overtime

Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of professional residence life, student/academic support, marketing, event planning or related experience.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.

Note: This role has been designated by the University of Colorado as an essential services position, to ensure the health, safety and security of student residents. The incumbent is required to respond after hours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shifts during emergency campus closures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience working in housing and residence life in a higher education setting.
- Experience with StarRez and Salto.
