Nature of Work:

The University of ColoradoDenver | Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for a Front DeskCoordinator. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position willprovide front desk/reception support to the CU Dermatology Clinic in Aurora, Colorado. Responsibilitieswill include: greeting all visitors at the front desk; completing all check-inactivities; direct patients to the appropriate area; and scheduling appointmentson the phone or in person. This role will also provide assistance withvarious insurance related activities such as referral and coverageverification, data entry of demographic information, scanning and filing,generating daily worksheets, new onset coordination, and other miscellaneousduties as assigned.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Answers incoming phone calls.
  • Responds to triages inquiries.
  • Checks-in/checks out patients.
  • Schedules all patient appointments via phone, online, or in person use the EPIC EMR.
  • Collects co-pay information/documentation.
  • Obtain prior authorizations, verify insurance/co-pays, and process referrals.
  • Verifies and updates demographic and PCP information.
  • Generates charge forms.
  • Reconcile all credit card receipts and cash received daily using EPIC, Orchid, and USB Navigator systems.
  • Confirm all upcoming appointments on a daily basis.
  • Obtain referrals for visits as needed.
  • Provides assistance and directs visitors to the appropriate clinic personnel.
  • Stock patient room supplies.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of clerical experience in a medical/clinical setting.
  • Basic to strong PC skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Substitution: College or university course work appropriate to the work assignment may substitutefor the experience on a year-for-year basis.


    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience working in a Dermatology Clinic.
  • Experience with medical/clinical inventory control and disposal.
  • Experience answering phones and triaging inquiries.
  • Experience working with general office equipment (fax, copier, shredder, scanner, telephone, etc.).
  • Bi-lingual preferred, Spanish speaking highly desired.
  • Experience with EPIC EMR system.
  • Competencies/Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:
