The Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Research Scheduling Coordinator position.Department Summary:
The Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) is a collaborative enterprise between the University of Colorado Denver, University of Colorado at Boulder, six affiliated hospitals and health care organizations, and multiple community organizations with resources to promote research and training that will advance health care and improve the public health. The CCTSI was created in 2008 with funding from the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) initiative of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Position Summary:
The purpose of the Research Scheduling Coordinator position is to support the scheduling, administrative, and operational functions of the outpatient Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC). This CTRC facilitates the activities of over 350 clinical research studies by providing dedicated research space, nursing, nutrition, cardiovascular imaging, body composition and exercise testing, and laboratory services. This position will be responsible for checking participants into and out of their research appointments, operation of the CTRC Scheduler system, printing and collating visit paperwork, entering CTRC appointments into the University of Colorado Hospital EMR (Epic), general clerical and administrative tasks of the CTRC unit, and providing excellent customer service to participants, study teams, research nurses, and other CTRC staff.Examples of Work Performed:

  • Perform check in, check out, and greeting activities at the CTRC outpatient clinic front desk

  • Enter CTRC appointments into the University of Colorado Hospital EMR (Epic)

  • Provide query and customer service support to participants and CTRC and study staff

  • Print and collate research visit paperwork

  • Use CTRC Scheduler (training provided on hire) to schedule participants, create and modify appointments, verify resource utilization, and run reports

  • Data entry

  • EMR (EPIC) entry of research appointments

  • Develop custom reports based on requested CTRC, UCD, and hospital metrics

  • Assist in maintenance and update of the CTRC Scheduler application

  • Act as a liaison between the outpatient and inpatient CTRC units

  • Participate in process improvement projects at the CTRC and ability to implement coordinated changes

  • Other duties as requested by the Manager

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in a customer service and/or front desk position

  • Substitution: Appropriate college-level education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a clinical research environment or equivalent hospital environment
Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be willing and able to walk at least 1 mile between CTRC sites.
