Responsibilities


The Registered Nurse (RN), within their scope of practice, is responsible to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to a designated group of healthcare consumers across the continuum. Provides services which encompass the spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological aspects of care of the sick, prevention of disease, or conservation of health. The position contributes to the mission and core values of CHI Health.


  • Follow the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage.

  • Assessment - Demonstrates a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze the following healthcare consumer data including: psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic and lifestyle factors

  • Plan - Sets measurable and achievable short and long term goals according to standards of care based on the assessment by the nurse in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.

  • Implement - Implements and/or modifies the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning based upon standards of care and evidence based practice. This includes care coordination, education and discharge planning. The nurse is accountable for the care directly, indirectly or through delegation. Professional and legal standards for delegation must be followed.



  • Qualifications


    BSN or BSN must be obtained within 5 years of hire


    Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compact.


    Basic life support is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Heart Association: Basic Life Support.


    ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire.


    PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire.

Tasks may vary by facility and could include distribution of supplies, general clerical support and facilitating screening stations. Responsibilities * Responsible for screening employees, patients, and guests for symptoms of COVID-19 before gaining admittance to our facilities. * Contributes to a culture of safety by providing assistance to coworkers in the use of personal protective equipment.* Distributes medical supplies and equipment to patient care areas.     What is a Resource Team/Float Pool?
    A nursing pool developed by CHI Health for flexible nurses, providing high quality care to patients across multiple nursing departments. Your base rate of pay, merit increases, shift differentials and holiday pay are given in an identical manner as for all core staff. Because this pool is designed to value flexibility, anyone committed to a. 6 or higher will earn premium differential pay in addition to normal differential pay.
    Premium Differential Pay:
    Day Shift, 6:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., earn an extra 10%
    Night Shift, 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m., earn an extra 15%
    Resource Team/Float Pool is for you, if you wish to:
