Specimen Accessioning and Processing (Lab Receiving) Specimen Accessioning and Processing (Laboratory Receiving) is the section of the laboratories where specimens are received, sorted, entered into the Laboratory Information System, labelled with barcoded labels and processed.

Sort different clinical specimens such as blood, urine, micro, and serum tubes.
COVID-19 Processing
Demonstrate organization and time management skills.
Deliver received and accession specimens to technical lab.
Requires standing for 8 hours, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

This role will be somewhat physically demanding as they will be on their feet for most of, if not the whole shift.
The primary responsibility of this position will be sample handling with the intent to expedite samples from intake to internal laboratory departments for testing so laboratory results can be tested and sent out to patients and clients on time.

Fast-typing speed; experience in the laboratory preferred. They have a high productivity standard because they have so many specimen to process.
Right now, this site is HIGH volume of COVID testing. 99% of the tests will be COVID.
Enter the PCR swab into the system, then they print out labels for the swab, then they match, label and throw away
They will also follow sterility test and match everything, enter information and pour out certain volume depending on the test
