Job Description

Job Duties:

* Perform laboratory scale operations for bulk polymerization for the development of next generation DRA polymers and formulations
* Characterize physical properties of novel materials in our labs using viscometers, particle size analyzers, rheometers and other instruments
* Liaise with external service providers to ensure analytical and bench testing are delivered to a high-quality standard and against established timelines
* Accurately manage test results and technical information, interpret data, make recommendations and maintain comprehensive electronic laboratory notebook records
* Scale up newly developed DRA in pilot plant scale production
* Assist in the set-up of new laboratory apparatus
* Support quality control and equipment maintenance within the lab

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or related discipline. Know-how of emulsion, water-based dispersion, surfactant technology and background in pipeline hydraulics would be a plus
* 2+ years related experience
* Lab scale / pilot plant polymerization experience, preferably in Ziegler- Natta polymerization. Experienced with glove box inert atmosphere control system and handling of catalysts, monomers and solvents
* Broad experience of polymer characterization test methods, procedures and scientific analysis techniques
* Ability to design, recommend and execute experimental programs with guidance from supervisor
* Ability to work autonomously, effective time-management skills, work with accuracy, attention to detail, and drive to deliver against project objectives and timeline
