The Office of Undergraduate Admissions, under the direction of the Division of Enrollment and Student Services, facilitates and oversees the recruitment, admission, and first-time enrollment of traditional undergraduate students to Concordia University Irvine.
ROLE:
Assist in the Concordia recruitment program by recruiting prospective students and maintaining contact through college fairs, high school visits, phone calls, direct mail, virtually, and campus visits. The Admissions Counselor will evaluate completed application files from prospective students to determine admissions decisions. All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university.

STAFF RELATIONSHIPS:
- Report to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions for daily supervision
- Interact and function cooperatively with Enrollment Services staff and other campus personnel
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:
Manage all recruitment activities for new freshmen from a geographic territory or assigned student population
- Manage all recruitment activities for new freshmen from a geographic territory or assigned student population
- Maintain contact with prospective students in assigned territory through mail, phone calls and personal visits
- Update applications in assigned territory until file is complete, prepares applications for review and makes recommendations to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions and the Executive Director of University Admissions. Prepare a separate file for financial aid
- Schedule interviews and appointments with prospective students in assigned territory
- Present effective small and large group presentations of the university to prospective students, parents, counselors, alumni, pastors and youth leaders both on and off campus
- Represent Concordia at college day and night programs. These events require evening and weekend responsibility
- Maintain contact with public and private high schools in the assigned territory through visits to the campuses to speak with students and counselors (these visits require approximately four to six weeks travel outside the local area each year)
- Participate in planning of on-campus and virtual recruitment events
- Available during normal office hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) to answer questions on the phone and handle on-campus visits for prospective students when their assigned counselor is not available
- Responsible for hosting large groups of prospective students when they visit the campus
- Communicate with supervisor pertaining to recruitment strategy and have full knowledge of the admissions recruitment field
- Every contact or touch point, both inbound and outbound, is logged in the CRM for accurate reporting of communication to be used both internally and externally
- Individually tracking progress towards territory goals using the CRM and data in all funnel stages
- Other duties may be assigned from time-to-time
- Job function requires access to email outside of the office and/or beyond normal scheduled working hours and it is essential for the university that the employee has the ability to receive and send electronic communications such as e-mail and SMS text messages
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
