Entry Level Lab Technician - Graveyard Shift (9:30pm-6am)

Aerotek Scientific is currently recruiting for several entry level lab technicians to work in a clinical laboratory to assist with processing COVID-19 patient samples. This is a great opportunity for candidates that are looking to go to graduate school next year since you will be working directly with a CLS - Clinical Lab Scientist.

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a related science with academic experience performing PCR and be open to working the night/graveyard shift.

*Must also be comfortable with handling COVID patient samples*

Lab Technician

Pay Rate - $18.50/hr with 10% shift differential = $20.35/hr

Shift: Tuesday - Saturday

Hours: 9:30pm - 6am (overnight/graveyard)

Location: Irvine, CA

Under constant and direct supervision of Clinical Laboratory Scientists - prefers candidates with PCR experience.

• Assists with processing for all test methods approved by CAP, NY and CLIA under Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) supervision.


• Assists in process improvement activities such as quality, safety, document management and control, and proficiency testing.


• May assist with the implementation of test methods from internal and external sources.


• May interact with vendors on special projects such as test method validations and new equipment.


• May participate in technical studies designed to improve or validate clinical laboratory testing methods.


• Required to work closely with CLSs and report all problems to Lead, General Supervisor and/or Lab Director.


• Assists with instrument maintenance and repair.


• Performs preventative maintenance and calibrations on laboratory equipment and instruments.


• Monitors reagent and supply inventory.


• May prepare laboratory reagents and assay materials according to SOPs, standard laboratory recipes/formulas under CLS supervision.


• Organizes patient specimen and assay worksheets/printouts for testing and CLS review.


• Assists in writing Laboratory documents such as Standard Operating Procedures and departmental forms.


• Required to follow all safety procedures, policies, precautions, and Quality Assurance.
