Job Description:

The Avionics business unit of L3Harris Technologies is growing! Join the team as an Electro Mechanical Inspector. In this role you will: 


  • Visually inspect in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.

  • Perform Receiving Inspection, In-process Inspection, and Final Inspection functions.

  • Use various measuring devices. 

  • Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.

  • Work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.

  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

  • Perform line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.

  • Repeted actions of bending, stooping, reaching and lifting ~40lbs.

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

  • 2 years performing mechanical measurements, using various measuring instruments GD&T methodology.

  • 2 years performing simple surface plate set-ups, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, etc.

Preferred Skills:


  • Ability to perform electronic and/or hybrid inspection of complex electrical assemblies, components and systems.

  • Able to describe nonconformance situations and assist in the cause and resolution.

  • Able to review reworked and repaired items for acceptance.

  • Able to understand drawings and drawing notes.

  • Must have reasonably good manual dexterity.

  • Experience with reading blueprints.


  • Computer Skills and CAD preferred.
