Medical Histology Technician ($28/hr)

Job Description:

A Histotechnician are responsible for examining/preparing specimens and embedding them in the pathology grossing department. Then, they will then cut ribbons in the specimen blocks for technologists to view under slides.

Shift Available:

Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM

Pay:

$28/hr

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Histology OR 2 years of experience as Histotechnician OR certification from trade school


• Ability to cut wax/embedded samples into fine ribbons for testing

Performance Expectations/Working Environment:

• First day in showing clear understanding on how to cut ribbons in samples.


• Training with Senior Technicians, showing the process for COVID-19 testing entering the lab and how it is accessioned/tested before officially working; takes about 2-3 weeks.


• Evaluation after 2-3 week training period to see how ready Grosser is to take on role; 3 month evaluation after
