Firmware Engineer

The Firmware Engineer is responsible for the development of microcode for new designs and maintenance of existing designs for the Company's products. Firmware and embedded control software, developed from command documents, form the base level firmware for operation of an instrument's motors, data acquisition and control. Firmware and software development of test fixtures provide manufacturing support as well as test/diagnostic routines. The design directly impacts the quality of the Company's products and the Company's ability to meet its objectives of providing products that meet customers' needs and expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in planning, organizing and implementing technical projects to support the design and development of instruments.


• Collaborates with electronic hardware and software engineers to design, implement, code, test and debug firmware.


• Development of test fixtures, firmware and software for use in manufacturing and service.


• Resolves difficult hardware/software compatibility/interface/design considerations.
