Responsibilities The NurseProfessional Development Generalist works collaboratively toassess, identify, plan, implement, coordinate, facilitate, andevaluate educational activities through a systems model. Thisincludes the tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of thespecialty to improve healthcare practice of learners based on theAssociation of Nurse Professional Development (ANPD) PracticeModel. Using expertise in education and professional developmentpractices, the NPD Generalist collaborates with staff, leadership,faculty and researchers to implement and evaluate professionaldevelopment programs that influence professional role competence,continuous learning and growth, promotes synergistic practices andpatient outcomes throughout the organization, and advances the NPDpractice based on Wellstar's Nursing Professional Practice Modeland in accordance with Association Nursing Professional DevelopmentScope and Standards of Professional Nursing Practice. Roles includelearning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion forscientific inquiry, advocate for Nurse Professional Developmentspecialty and partner for practice transitions. The NursingProfessional Development Generalist supports the NursingProfessional Development Specialist, clinical manager, andinterprofessional team to implement, document, and modifyevidence-based, quality, and educational programs and activitiesthat promote professional competency and role performance fornursing and non-licensed staff. Qualifications Required MinimumEducation: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing:Bachelor's Science of Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school ofnursing required. Required Minimum Licensure/Certification:Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State ofGeorgia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Georgiaunder the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC); Must have acurrent CPR/BLS card from the American Heart Association on thefirst day of employment in position. National certification in areaof specialty or Nursing Professional Development preferred.Required Minimum Experience/Scope: Minimum of three years ofnursing practice experience. This role may be required to supportmore than one facility or specialty. Required Minimum Skills:Ability to read, write, and speak English language, optimize theuse of technology to support learning and holds advanced computerskills; demonstrates emotional intelligence; strong interpersonal,collaborative skills along with customer service skills required;ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond toemergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner;possess excellent time management skills; possess a strongunderstanding of adult learning theories and can utilizemulti-methods to implement training/development. Uses tools,theories, skills, and knowledge of the specialty to improve thehealthcare practice of learners. Critical thinking skills andeducation innovation are maturing. Maintains educational orclinical competencies appropriate for role. Promotes concept oflifelong learning. Uses appropriate measurement tools and methodsin quality improvement and evidencebased practice. Involveslearners in assessment of needs and identification of outcomes.Ensures educational programs are congruous with organizationalmission and goals. Produces desired outcomes relevant toorganization. Selects appropriate teaching strategies to facilitatebehavioral change. Evaluates effectiveness and outcomes ofeducational endeavors. Promotes career development and roletransition. Develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, andevaluate onboarding, orientation, and competency programs fornursing and other healthcare personnel.
