Responsibilities The RegisteredNurse PRN in the Acute Cardio- Pulmonary unit at Kennestone MedicalCenter NIGHT SHIFT is a proactive member of an interdisciplinaryteam of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure thatpatients, families and significant others receive individualizedhigh quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinicalenvironment that is administered by Nurse Managers and otherleaders and is supported through the WellStar Shared GovernanceModel. The framework for practice is steered by the WellStarProfessional Practice Model, 5-Star Nursing and evidence basedpractice and research. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nursesare licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing asoutlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act andimplements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards putforth by the American Nurses Association. Patients in our unit havediagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, pulmonary embolisms, lungcancer, emphysema, asthma, interstitial lung disease, tuberculosis,and pulmonary edema. We stand out from other med/surge floors inthat we have the ability to take care of high acuity patients onheated high flow oxygen therapy at greater than 15L, as well aspatients on BIPAPs and CPAPs. This is a Night Shift PRN position.The following are patient care quantifies G4S for * ChronicObstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) * Pulmonary Hypertension *Acute and Chronic Respiratory Failure * Pulmonary embolism *Pulmonary edema * Asthma * Bronchiectasis * Heated High FlowOxygenation Aerosol treatments requiring negative airflowQualifications Required Minimum Education: Graduate of anaccredited/approved school of nursing: Baccalaureate degree innursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as aRegistered Nurse in the State of Georgia or hold a privilege topractice in the State of Georgia under the Enhanced Nurse LicensureCompact (eNLC). Must have a current BLS card from the AmericanHeart Association on the first day of employment in position.National certification in area of specialty preferred.
