The Diabetes Research Institute is seeking a Director, Patient Education. The incumbent Communicates with patient concerning their progress, while facilitating the education component of the program. Establishes and maintains relationships with programs that have similar missions and goals. Attends meetings with families. Performs in-service training to develop the needs of program attendees. Develops group classes to foster community outreach. Documents all professional and clinical reports in a timely manner. Works with multi-disciplinary team to assess and rehabilitate recipients. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
