Responsibilities SignificantSign-On Bonus and Relocation assistance offered for qualifiedexperienced RNs The Charge Nurse (RN) Fulltime Night for MedicalSurgical Collaborative Care G7W is responsible for directing andoverseeing the daily activities of the unit on an assigned shift toassure successful safe delivery of care. The Charge Nurse is acaregiver and often takes modified patient care assignment. Theypractice in a clinical environment that is administered by NurseManagers and other leaders and is supported through the WellStarShared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered bythe WellStar Professional Nursing Practice Model and evidence basedpractice and research. RN competencies are derived from thesemodels and supported by the WellStar Core Competencies. The RNClinical Charge Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinaryteam of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure thatpatients, families and significant others receive individualizedhigh quality, safe patient care. Expectations of practice include:accountability; responsibility and authority for the practice ofnursing; effective teamwork; delegation; communication; respect;personal development; and development of team members. The rolecontributes to the establishment and maintenance of practices thatensure excellence in patient care, provides for the efficient useof resources, and undertakes leadership task such as staffschedules, unit patient flow, subject matter expertise for clinicalconcerns, physician rounding, committee involvement, surveyreadiness, and other task as assigned by the manager, which arebasic to the department's ability to function in a smooth andeffective manner. The RN Clinical Charge Nurse is a resource toother areas opportunity to learn about operational functionalityand hospital/facility awareness. He/she is assists in the growthand development of team members in the unit to help builddepartment skills sets and to inspire expertise. This leader bringswith him or her ability to build rapport between nurses andphysicians to continue service to the patients and is a role modelto others. Qualifications Required Minimum Education * Graduate ofan accredited/approved school of nursing as and AssociateDegree/Diploma Nurse; Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from anaccredited school of nursing preferred. Required MinimumLicensure/Certification * Current/active license as a registerednurse in the State of Georgia; * Must have a current BLS card fromthe American Heart Association on the first day of employment inposition. National certification in area of specialty preferred.(Dependent on area of Service may require additional certificationsuch as ACLS, PALS.) Required Minimum Experience * One year ofnursing experience required, two years preferred. Experience asrelief charge with clinical expertise preferred. Required MinimumSkills * Ability to read, write and speak English language,optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holdsbasic computer skills; * Strong interpersonal skills, criticalthinking and decision-making skills. * Works well with others in acollaborative, team-focused, patient centered way. * Communicateseffectively both orally and in written form with all levels ofinternal and external resources. * Analytical skills necessary tosolve technical, clinical and managerial challenges. Ability tocommunicate verbally and in writing. * Sufficient clinical andleadership experience to ensure competence and credibility to leadothers.
