Gulf Coast Medical Center * Houses the NeuroscienceInstitute, orthopedic services, and general surgery. The hospitaloffers 24/7 access to emergency care and minimally invasivecatheter procedures to treat stroke, as well as a dedicatedneuroscience intensive care unit. * 624 total beds * SPCU has 72beds, 1:4 patient ratio Responsible for the safe delivery anddocumentation of patient care through the nursing process ofassessment// diagnosing// planning// implementation// andevaluation. Performs responsibilities in five areas of nursingpractice utilizing critical thinking// management// problem solvingand differentiation of urgency in the role of: clinician//teacher// researcher// leadership and professional development.Responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care forpatients based on established clinical nursing practice standardssubscribed to by American Nursing Association and in accordancewith the Florida Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory standards.Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensureeffective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievementof desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision andmission. Uses knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversityinto the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision ofquality nursing care through excellence in customer service andperformance improvement techniques that demonstrate positiveoutcomes in patient care. The nurse practice is guided by the codeof ethics for nurses with interpretative statements.
