Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychologist Location: Birmingham, AL Description: Alabama Psychiatry announces an immediate opening for a Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychologist for adult (19+) and geriatric populations within an outpatient or hospital setting. The applicant must be willing to travel up to thirty miles around Birmingham to hospital and outpatient sites, including Princeton Baptist Medical Center and Shelby Baptist Medical Center. The contract type is Part-Time to Full-Time, with flexible hours possible. If full-time work is desired, Alabama Psychiatry offers great benefits, including PTO and 401-K. The applicant must be flexible, a great team player, and ready to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and therapists. The applicant must be able to quickly and efficiently complete brief psychological reports with assessment findings, diagnoses, and recommendations for patients and referrers. We also have a strong interest in an individual who can provide treatment recommendations to psychiatrists and therapists to assist with diagnoses, treatment planning, and placement within outpatient or hospital settings. In addition, the preferred applicant will have a background in hospital and outpatient settings and have specialized experience and training in mood disorder treatment in a hospital setting. The applicant will mostly work independently, once the referral question is given. Referrals will generally be from Psychiatrists, other Medical Doctors, and Neurologists. There is also potential for supervision of a psychometrist and/or psychology students, as well as growth within the company. In addition, there is potential for development of a successful outpatient therapy and assessment practice in the Birmingham area, in addition to the possibility of hospital work. Alabama Psychiatry is looking to hire someone in this Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychologist role to become a central part of our clinical team for the foreseeable future. Our Practice: Alabama Psychiatry (formerly River Region Psychiatry Associates) is a large, multi-site private practice with outpatient offices in Montgomery, Pelham, Auburn, Alabaster, Gadsden, and Sylacauga, AL and Bowling Green, KY, as well as inpatient services in several hospitals in the Birmingham, AL area. Our staff currently includes Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, Therapists, and Administrative Staff. Alabama Psychiatry is again expanding and looking to add to our psychology team with the addition of more psychologists.
