The Lead Medical Technologist works inconjunction with, or in the absence of, the Laboratory Supervisorto coordinate laboratory activities for the appropriate shift orsection(s). Assesses staffing needs according to anticipated orimmediate workload and assigns technical or support staff asrequired. Uses effective communication skills to assist in theresolution of issues involving laboratory staff with co-workers,nursing staff, physicians and other LMHS employees and customers.Works with Laboratory Supervisor to evaluate and implement newprocesses, develop and revise policies and procedures andin-service staff. Serves as a resource for staff. Performs clinicallaboratory testing for all patient types in a timely, efficient andaccurate manner.
