PRN - CVOR RN Kennestone.Responsibilities The Registered Nurse (RN) PRN CVOR functions underthe direction of the Department Manager and Clinical Coordinator.The Cardiovascular OR Specialty Nurse is responsible forimplementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge andexperience. The nurse is responsible for providing patient carethat is age appropriate, and addresses the biological, emotional,developmental, psychosocial and educational needs of the patientand family/support system. The Cardiovascular OR Specialty Nurse isresponsible for delivering patient care in complex, multipleproblem, urgent, emergent and lifesaving situations. In addition,this nurse coordinates surgical suite activities, prioritizes anddirects surgical team in emergent situations with ease. Sheparticipates and coordinates staff development and professionalself-development. This nurse is a role model and team leader whoassists others in performing their responsibilities of patient careand organization support and is self-directed. Functions in afull-time position during peak surgery hours. Weekday, weekend andholiday call required. Some charge nurse responsibilities may berequired. Qualifications Required Minimum Education: Graduate of anaccredited/approved school of nursing: Baccalaureate degree innursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred;National certification in area of specialty preferred RequiredMinimum Experience: Minimum 2 years diversified nursing experiencepreferred. Competent in functioning independently in multiplecomplex procedures and in lifesaving situations. Demonstratesexcellent skills in a nursing role. Dual role of scrub andcirculating preferred. Required Minimum Certification:Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State ofGeorgia; Must have a current BLS card from the American HeartAssociation on the first day of employment in position. RequiredMinimum Skills: The Cardiovascular O.R. Specialty Nursedemonstrates a thorough knowledge of new trends and techniques inCardiovascular surgery. Ability to multi-task using criticalthinking skills anticipates surgeon's as well as surgical team'sneeds. Capable of prioritizing appropriate patient care inemergency situations. Current CPR certification and participates inannual safety and infection control programs. Emergency callcoverage is required for weekdays, weekends and holidays.Attendance and punctuality must be commendable. Must be able toeffectively communicate and understand verbal and written Englishlanguage. Must be able to communicate effectively in a clear,courteous, professional and tactful manner especially in stressfulsituations. Demonstrates excellent organizational skills. Basickeyboarding skills required. Flexible in hours and work shifts dueto need of continued patient care. Must be available for call onweekdays, weekends and holidays.
