Responsibilities The RN OncologyClinician PRN Days at our Outpatient Infusion Center at WellStarCobb is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensedand unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families andsignificant others receive individualized high quality, safepatient care. This individual practices using current clinicalpractice standards including but not limited to chemotherapy andtargeted agent therapies for treating malignant and nonmalignantconditions. This individual is responsible for providing safepatient care with an understanding and awareness of age appropriateand culturally aware needs. The RN Oncology Clinician addresses thepatient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocialand education needs and is responsible for delivery of patient carein complex situations. The RN Oncology Clinician serves as aclinical resource to nursing staff and management, and medicalstaff. It is expected that all RNs are licensed, knowledgeable anduphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the GeorgiaProfessional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope ofPractice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the AmericanNurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, it isexpected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient,system policies and procedures while supporting service excellencegoals. Qualifications Required Minimum Education: * Graduate of anaccredited/approved school of nursing: * Baccalaureate degree innursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred;Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: * Current/active licenseas a registered nurse in the State of Georgia; * ChemotherapyCompetency required through approved provider [Oncology NursingSociety (ONS) or WellStar Oncology Nursing Readiness and Safety(ONRS)]. * National certification in area of Oncology Specialty(OCN) preferred within one year of hire into this position.Required Minimum Experience: * 1 year direct patient care inclinical field. * Chemotherapy competency required. RequiredMinimum Skills: * Ability to read, write and speak Englishlanguage, optimize the use of technology to support clinical careand holds basic computer skills; * Strong interpersonal, *collaborative skills along with customer service skills required; *Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond toemergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner; *Possess excellent time management skills; practices nursing usingevidence and analytical skills along with possessing strongcritical thinking skills.
