Emergency DepartmentParamedic is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team oflicensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients,families and significant others receive individualized highquality, safe patient care. Practice in a clinical environment thatis administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. As an integralmember of the Emergency Department team, the Paramedic will supporttreatment in the hospital emergency department (ED). Paramedic willbe required to assist with patient care treatment in conjunctionwith a Registered Nurse (RN) that directs plan of care, team goals,and performance. Paramedic shall cover the range of servicesprovided in a medical treatment facility in accordance withO.C.G.A.ยง 31-11-59 which outlines the services of paramedics inhospitals and defined hospital specific duties. In addition, theParamedic promotes and restores patients' health and the overallpatient experience by collaborating with physicians, RNs, andmulti-disciplinary team members, and providing support to patients,families and significant others. It is expected that all EmergencyDepartment Paramedics possess a Georgia Paramedic license and thenational registry certification for paramedics. Must beknowledgeable and adhere to the scope of paramedic practices asoutlined in the Georgia Department of Human Resources Division ofPublic Health Office of Emergency Medical Services scope ofpractices. As a member of the patient services team, it is expectedthat the individual upholds the voice of the patient, systempolicies and procedures while supporting service excellence goalsQualifications Required Minimum Education: High school diploma orequivalent required. Graduation from an accredited paramedictraining program. Required Minimum Certification: AHA-BLS, ACLS andPALS required. Licensed Paramedic by the by the State of Georgia.Required Minimum Experience: Two years of experience as a paramedicin the field or in a hospital setting. Required Minimum Skills:Ability to read, write and speak English language. Optimize the useof technology to support clinical care and holds basic computerskills. Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along withcustomer service skills required. Ability to function in afast-paced environment and respond to emergencies, using adecisive, composed and respectful manner. Possess excellent timemanagement skills.
