Fulltime Night Shift The RN Clinical Charge NurseAcute Care Renal/Vascular at WellStar Kennestone is responsible fordirecting and overseeing the daily activities of the unit on anassigned shift to assure successful safe delivery of care. TheCharge Nurse is a caregiver and often takes modified patient careassignment. They practice in a clinical environment that isadministered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supportedthrough the WellStar Shared Governance Model. The framework forpractice is steered by the WellStar Professional Nursing PracticeModel and evidence based practice and research. RN competencies arederived from these models and supported by the WellStar CoreCompetencies. The RN Clinical Charge Nurse is a proactive member ofan interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care giverswho ensure that patients, families and significant others receiveindividualized high quality, safe patient care. Expectations ofpractice include: accountability; responsibility and authority forthe practice of nursing; effective teamwork; delegation;communication; respect; personal development; and development ofteam members. The role contributes to the establishment andmaintenance of practices that ensure excellence in patient care,provides for the efficient use of resources, and undertakesleadership task such as staff schedules, unit patient flow, subjectmatter expertise for clinical concerns, physician rounding,committee involvement, survey readiness, and other task as assignedby the manager, which are basic to the department's ability tofunction in a smooth and effective manner. The RN Clinical ChargeNurse is a resource to other areas opportunity to learn aboutoperational functionality and hospital/facility awareness. He/sheis assists in the growth and development of team members in theunit to help build department skills sets and to inspire expertise.This leader brings with him or her ability to build rapport betweennurses and physicians to continue service to the patients and is arole model to others. Qualifications Required Minimum Education *Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing as andAssociate Degree/Diploma Nurse; Baccalaureate degree in nursing(BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred. RequiredMinimum Licensure/Certification * Currently licensed as aRegistered Nurse in the State of Georgia or hold a privilege topractice in the State of Georgia under the Enhanced Nurse LicensureCompact (eNLC). * Must have a current BLS card from the AmericanHeart Association on the first day of employment in position.National certification in area of specialty preferred. (Dependenton area of Service may require additional certification such asACLS, PALS.) Required Minimum Experience * One year of nursingexperience required, two years preferred. Experience as reliefcharge with clinical expertise preferred. Required Minimum Skills *Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the useof technology to support clinical care and holds basic computerskills; * Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking anddecision-making skills. * Works well with others in acollaborative, team-focused, patient centered way. * Communicateseffectively both orally and in written form with all levels ofinternal and external resources. * Analytical skills necessary tosolve technical, clinical and managerial challenges. Ability tocommunicate verbally and in writing. * Sufficient clinical andleadership experience to ensure competence and credibility to leadothers.
