Wesley Women’s Hospital is the regional referral center for high riskpregnancies. Wesley’s BirthCare Center is a facility especially designed for women who areexpecting a low-risk birth, and is located adjacent to the main facility.
Here's what you canexpect from being an RN in our units:
· You will beresponsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process ofassessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation
· You will direct andoversee all nursing care for the department-specific patient population inaccordance with the standards of nursing care and practice as defined by WesleyMedical Center and the Kansas Nurse Practice Act
· You will collaboratewith other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patientcare delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
· You will support theorganization's vision and mission and utilize knowledge of patient's age andcultural diversity in the provision of patient care
· You will contribute tothe provision of quality nursing care through performance improvementtechniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care
· You willsystematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice byparticipation in quality of care activities to initiate, implement, and sustainprocess improvements
· You will acquire andmaintain current knowledge in nursing practice and education
· You will monitor thepatient's progress toward the attainment of outcomes
· You will contribute tothe professional development of peers, colleagues and others
· You will collaboratewith the patient, significant others and health care providers in providing andadvocating for patient care
· You will considersafety and cost effectiveness when delivering patient care
· Your decisions andactions on behalf of patients are determined in an ethical manner
· You will participatein the improvement of operational functions of the department
· You will establish andmaintain effective and respectful communication in development of allcollaborative relationships
· You will evaluate andparticipate in opportunities for outstanding service to all customers andaccept responsibility in partnership that is equally respectful to everyone
· You will demonstratethe ability to apply knowledge of age-appropriate competencies to departmentspecific population
· You will utilizecritical thinking and problem solving skills to identify, interpret, and accessappropriate resources in patient specific scenario(s)
· You will secure,administer and handle medication according to established guidelines

Qualifications
I'minterested, what is required for this position?
· You have a currentRegistered Nurse License in the state of Kansas, and current Basic Life Support(BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
· Are you a graduate ofan accredited school of nursing? Outstanding!
· Neonatal ResuscitationProgram (NRP) verification course, as specified in policy (including Birth CareCenter, Postpartum and Labor & Delivery)
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course , as specifiedin policy - (including Birth Care Center and Labor & Delivery)
· Sugar, Temp, Airway, BP,Emotional Support (S.T.A.B.L.E) verification course, as specified in policy
· Fetal Monitoring (IFMC)verification course, as specified in policy- (including Birth Care Center, Labor& Delivery and High Risk OB Oncology)
· Advanced Fetal Monitoring(AFM&A) verification course, as specified in policy - (including Birth CareCenter, Labor & Delivery and High Risk OB Oncology)
· Successful completion ofthe Wesley Dysrhythmia exam within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy (includingBirth Care Center and Labor & Delivery)
· We would prefer 1 to 2years of nursing experience
