Position SummaryThe CWOCN or CWON serves as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute, chronic, and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems, such as complex draining wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, and incontinence. The CWOCN or CWON should be prepared to provide the scope of the CWOCN or CWON practice which also includes other components such as education, counseling, research, and administration.
