R&D Technician

QUALIFCATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or related discipline. Know-how of emulsion, water-based dispersion, surfactant technology and background in pipeline hydraulics would be a plus


• 2+ years related experience


• Lab scale / pilot plant polymerization experience, preferably in Ziegler- Natta polymerization. Experienced with glove box inert atmosphere control system and handling of catalysts, monomers and solvents


• Broad experience of polymer characterization test methods, procedures and scientific analysis techniques

JOB DUTIES

The R&D Polymerization Technician to develop next generation Drag Reducing Agents to improve the flow of crude oil and refined product transportation in pipeline.

* Perform laboratory scale operations for bulk polymerization for the development of next generation DRA polymers and formulations
* Characterize physical properties of novel materials in our labs using viscometers, particle size analyzers, rheometers and other instruments
* Liaise with external service providers to ensure analytical and bench testing are delivered to a high-quality standard and against established timelines
