Program Description: Backcountry Wellness is an eating disorder treatment program founded with the mission of bridging comprehensive recovery with the demands of real life. Our treatment philosophy embraces compassion and understanding, safety and nurturing, and a focus on family involvement to equip our patients with the tools to make lasting changes within their lives. Backcountry Wellness creates custom programs for children, adolescents and adults who live with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake, Orthorexia, and Other Specific Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED). Job Summary: The Primary Therapist is an experienced licensed clinician. The Primary Therapist guides clients through the treatment process and supports them in overcoming the challenges that arise on the road to recovery. The Primary Therapist provides clinical treatment through individual and group psychotherapy and has the opportunity to manage multiple cases at once, allowing the therapist to collaborate with the broader treatment team to facilitate customized solutions for each patient. A strong Primary Therapist leads case discussions on their patients and collaborates successfully with the Team Leader and Program Director, the patient, and the patient’s family to maximize treatment effectiveness and facilitate a successful outcome. Essential Job Functions Complete an initial biopsychosocial assessment and develop a treatment plan within the first week of admission to generate a clear method of execution and time-based goals Generate and maintain comprehensive charting and professional client documentation throughout the patient’s progress in treatment Provide individual, family and group psychotherapy Educate clients on their comprehensive treatment plan and communicate strategies, goals and targets throughout the duration of treatment Establish a relationship with the patient and patient’s family to provide a foundation early on in the treatment process Generate a post-discharge maintenance plan for all clients and recommend meal support and/or additional outpatient programs as necessary Generate detailed documentation throughout the treatment process and complete discharge summaries upon discharge Coordinate with patient support staff such as the Registered Dietitian to ensure effective execution of the treatment plan Maintain punctuality and attendance for required staffing in order to maintain program and treatment consistency and reliability Present relevant cases in Clinical Rounds in a clear and comprehensible manner and assist with transitions across treatment platforms when necessary Facilitate educational and therapeutic groups upon request Participate in educational and outreach programs when necessary to improve platform recognition and referral streams Qualifications: Required Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant subject Licensed or registered as a clinician in the state At least one year of experience in a residential or outpatient program for eating disorders strongly preferred Must understand the therapeutic process, confidentiality laws, and have strong knowledge of professional ethics Ability to demonstrate professional presence, therapeutic resourcefulness, leadership and communication capabilities Ability to provide constructive feedback in an appropriate manner to all patients and families Ability to work as a team player within an intimate treatment setting Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Bonus/Commission: No
