Summary- RN Traveler – Transplant and Hepatology Medicine – University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, CO
The Transplant & Hepatology Unit is a 36-bed unit specializing in the perioperative care of transplant recipients, donors, and hepatobiliary surgeries. We provide care to lung, liver, kidney and pancreas transplants as well as donor nephrectomy and donor hepatectomy patients. We work closely with Pulmonary, Hepatology and Renal Transplant to prepare patients for life before, during and after transplantation. We are unique in that we admit kidneys, livers and pancreas transplants directly to our specialty med/surg floor. We have a very inclusive team and we pride ourselves on our high quality and safe care.

Teaching hospital experience preferred

JobDuties
· Plans,implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment tooptimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
· Monitors, records, and communicatespatient condition as appropriate.
· Collaboratesas needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patienttransfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
· Evaluateslearning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family educationappropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
· Effectivelydelegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses andnew hires.
Skillsand Abilities:
Withinscope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast pacedenvironment, and take appropriate action. Follows Standard Precautions usingpersonal protective equipment as required.
