HarperCollins is seeking a Senior Manager, Publishing for the William Morrow group. Responsibilities Metadata* Leads the metadata optimization efforts for all Morrow imprints – Morrow, Avon, Dey St, Voyager, and Custom House with the goal to drive online book discovery and sales for frontlist and backlist titles including:* Metadata training, consultation, best practices.* An emphasis on SEO, content, and copy optimization, working closely with cross-functional teams to maximize retailer page metadata.* Manages both seasonal and ongoing feeding and input of off page key words, copy, covers, etc.* Works with Director of Marketing on yearly metadata initiatives for the imprint.Operations* Partners with Editors, Associate Director (Copy), and Associate Publishers to ensure that Fact Sheets include relevant selling information each season.* Works with Copywriters, Editors, APs, Marketing and Publicity on seasonal catalogs.* Manages back ad and excerpt process for print and ebooks.* Manages ebook promotions and acts as a liaison between sales and imprint marketing teams.Backlist Management* Leads the backlist and paperback republishing efforts across all William Morrow imprints, working closely with the Associate Publisher, marketing, editorial, art, publishing operations, and sales teams to maximize the selling potential of a huge list of titles.* Updates all aspects of the metadata for backlist titles (copy, BISACs, additional images, keywords, PIX promo periods and marketing categories, etc.), with a special focus on franchise authors; track sales trends before and after metadata updates.* Manages backlist marketing of opportunity titles by creating sellsheets, liaising with sales team and inventory to address retailer needs, and coordinating cross promotions with external stakeholders like author estates.* Creates/pulls regular backlist reports designed to track current sales (growth or decline) and market trends.* Responds quickly to market trends and current events to maximize sales opportunities for William Morrow titles.* Identifies new opportunities/themes for ancillary editions, media tie-in editions, and other limited edition or anniversary reissues.* Attends reversion meetings with the Associate Publisher; works with Sub Rights team on license renewals, taking back rights, etc. Qualifications * A minimum of 6 years of marketing experience in SEO and metadata optimization* Ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously* Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail* Ability to work well with all levels of employees* Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel* College degree or equivalent work experienceHarperCollins Publishers is a company full of people who are passionate about books.
