RN Emergency Department Days

1+ years of recent acute care RN experience strongly preferred

Looking foran experienced RN to work in our Emergency Department Clinical Decision Unit atUniversity of Colorado Hospital on the Memorial Central Campus. This positionwill work collaboratively with the Emergency Department and other key clinicalteam members to expedite patient care in our patient population needingadditional testing then a traditional ER patient yet not meeting inpatientcriteria. Key to this role is experience with patient centered care,multitasking and prioritizing care, adhering to patient centered careprinciples, and the ability to facilitate established processes to expeditemovement of patients through the organization. .

Responsibilities:
Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

Withinscope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and theability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in afast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
