Position Summary:

The surgical technologist is a non-licensed skilled andexperienced person who is responsible under the direct supervision of aregistered nurse for selected tasks in the administration of patient carewithin the operating room suite. Assists with surgical procedures in scrubduties. Assists in the orientation, training, and education of newpersonnel.  Assists in maintaining safeand aseptic environment for all patients. Job Summary:
The operating room technologist is a non-licensed skilled and experienced person who is responsible under the direct supervision of a registered nurse for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the operating room suite. Assists with surgical procedures in scrub duties. Assists in the orientation, training, and education of new personnel. Assists in maintaining safe and aseptic environment for all patients.


Performs all related duties as assigned and directed. Facilitates the provision of

individualized patient care. Reports to Registered Nurse on each case and the OR Clinical Manager and the Director of Surgery. This is a non-exempt position.

Qualifications

 
QUALIFICATIONS
A. Completion of Surgical Technologist course
B. Surgical Technologist Certification required
C. One year experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care facility required
D. Three years additional training or experience in multiple specialties preferred
E. Current BCLS certification

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred

2+ years applicable nursing experience required

2+ years in a leadership role with demonstrated management proficiency preferred                                            

 

Licensure/Certification

Valid California RN license  

Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
